I believe that God brings past events in your life so you can serve Him better in the future. I have seen this play out in my life and in others' lives time and time again. It is through His faithfulness in our past that we have hope for the future. Through good times and through the crises, we can come to know ourselves and our God better.

I served with the foreign mission agency, SIM for 10 years on home staff as well as serving as chaplain with Providence Hospitals and the Santa Clara Fire District. Currently I serve as the South Carolina State Fire Chaplain based out of the Fire Academy in Columbia, South Carolina.
I have over 15 years with the fire service. I served 5 years with the US Forest Service fighting fires in the summer as well as the Steele Creek Volunteer Fire District in Charlotte and the Santa Clara Fire District in Eugene, Oregon. I currently serve on the South Carolina Firefighter Assistance and Support Team and am the chaplain for South Carolina State Fire.
My time as a police officer was much shorter, but quite impact-full on my life. I served both with the Hawaii County Police and the Lane County Sheriff.
I still carry both thin blue line and thin red line challenge coins with me to remind me of my police and fire brothers and sisters.
My philosophy for education is when you stop learning you start dying.
